1991 Defender 110
South America Defender 110
This 1991 Defender 110 came to Singing Camel from South America and was slated for a complete frame-off restoration.
The original 2.5-liter diesel engine was removed, with plans to replace it with a 200 TDI turbo diesel. The project also called for a stainless-steel exhaust system, polyurethane suspension bushings and heavy-duty coil springs.
Unlike many of the Land Rovers documented by Singing Camel, this Defender was one of Marc’s own projects. That meant customer vehicles often took priority, leaving the 110 waiting for its turn in the shop.
The final outcome is not documented in the recovered archive material so far, so the project remains marked as current until more history is confirmed.
